Fen Mobility Centre Is Proud to Sponsor Manea Gala This Year

If you know us at Fen Mobility Centre, you will know that community matters to us.

We are incredibly proud to support people across Ely, Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas every day through our showroom, assessments, advice and aftercare. But for us, being part of a community means more than opening the doors each morning. It means showing up, supporting local events and helping create moments that bring people together.

That is why we are so excited to share that this year, Fen Mobility Centre is sponsoring the Manea Gala.

And not just any year either.

This year marks a special milestone as the Gala celebrates its 70th anniversary. A brilliant achievement for an event that has been bringing people together for generations.

To us, that feels worth celebrating.

What Is the Manea Gala?

If you have never been before, the Manea Gala is one of those brilliant local events that reminds you what village and community life is all about.

Held in Manea in the Cambridgeshire Fens, the Gala has been running since 1956 and attracts thousands of visitors each year. It is organised entirely by volunteers and has become known for bringing together families, local groups, entertainment and activities for all ages.

Expect things like:

  • Family entertainment

  • Stalls and local businesses

  • Classic vehicles

  • Food and refreshments

  • Live music

  • Community groups

  • Activities for children

  • Plenty of opportunities to bump into people you know

This year’s event also includes anniversary celebrations and extra activities to mark seventy years of community spirit.

Honestly, it sounds like exactly the sort of day that summer is made for.

Why Are We Sponsoring It?

Because these events matter.

Local events do not just happen on their own.

They rely on volunteers giving up evenings, local businesses supporting where they can and communities choosing to get involved.

At Fen Mobility Centre we have always believed that if you are fortunate enough to be part of a community, you should try to give back to it.

Over the years we have tried to support local causes in different ways.

We have sponsored local children’s football teams.

We support local bowls clubs.

Recently, we donated to Just George, the children’s cancer charity, as part of our anniversary celebrations and community fundraising.

We regularly support local initiatives because we genuinely believe stronger communities help everybody.

When the opportunity came up to support Manea Gala, it felt like exactly the sort of event we want to stand behind.

We’re Looking Forward To Going Too

This is not one of those sponsorships where a logo appears somewhere and nobody ever turns up.

We are genuinely looking forward to being there.

Like many local families, we will be bringing our own children along and making a day of it.

We are expecting:

  • Ice creams

  • Too many snacks

  • At least one child asking for something unnecessary from a stall

  • Debates over which activity to do first

  • Running into people we know

  • Hoping for decent weather

Events like this create memories.

The sort of memories children remember years later.

The sort where you see neighbours, discover local groups, meet new people and enjoy being part of something bigger than everyday life.

Community Means More Than Business

At Fen Mobility Centre we talk a lot about independence, accessibility and helping people continue doing the things they enjoy.

Community events like the Manea Gala are part of that.

They give people opportunities to get out, connect with others and enjoy time together.

That is something we care about professionally and personally.

As a family business, and as a team that spends every day helping people remain active and independent, we know how valuable those moments can be.

If You See Us There, Come And Say Hello

If you are heading to the Manea Gala this year, keep an eye out for us.

Come over and say hello.

And most importantly, enjoy the day.

Huge credit to all of the volunteers and organisers who put the event together every year and keep such a fantastic local tradition going.

We cannot wait to be part of it.

See you there.

From all of us at Fen Mobility Centre
