Orthopaedic Supports for Everyday Life

There isn't one type of orthopaedic support that suits everyone. The right product depends on where you need support, what you are finding difficult and how you intend to use it.

Our range includes products designed to provide additional comfort and support for a variety of everyday needs.

Knee Supports & Braces

Knee pain and instability can affect everything from walking and climbing stairs to getting up from a chair.

Our knee supports range from lightweight compression products for everyday wear through to more structured supports designed to provide additional stability around the knee.

Ankle & Foot Supports

Foot and ankle problems can quickly affect the way you walk and move.

We stock a range of ankle supports and foot care products, including options designed to provide additional support for common problems such as plantar fasciitis, heel discomfort and ankle instability.

Arthritis Gloves & Hand Supports

Pain and stiffness in the hands can make everyday tasks such as dressing, cooking, writing and opening containers more difficult.

Our arthritis gloves and hand supports are designed with everyday comfort in mind, providing gentle support while allowing you to continue using your hands.

Wrist & Elbow Supports

For additional support following injury, repetitive strain or ongoing joint problems, we offer wrist and elbow supports in a range of styles and sizes.

The right level of support can help provide stability without unnecessarily restricting everyday movement.

Back & Posture Supports

Back discomfort can have a significant impact on everyday life.

Our range includes products designed to provide additional support and comfort around the back and body. Choosing the correct type and fit is particularly important, so speak to our team if you're unsure what would be appropriate.

Choosing the Right Orthopaedic Support

It can be tempting to simply buy a brace or support based on where something hurts, but getting the right type, size and level of support matters.

A product that is too restrictive may be uncomfortable, while something too loose may provide very little useful support.

Before choosing an orthopaedic product, think about:

  • Where you need additional support

  • Whether the problem is pain, weakness, swelling or instability

  • When you intend to wear the support

  • How much movement you need while wearing it

  • The correct size and fit

  • Whether you have an existing diagnosis or are recovering from an injury

  • Whether you have been given specific advice by a physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, GP or other healthcare professional

If you're unsure, come and talk to us. We'd much rather help you look at the options than have you go home with something unsuitable.

Living With Arthritis

Arthritis is one of the most common reasons people visit us looking for additional support.

But managing arthritis isn't necessarily about finding one product.

If arthritis is beginning to affect your independence, there may be other simple changes or pieces of equipment that can make everyday activities easier.

Alongside orthopaedic supports and arthritis gloves, our Ely showroom has a huge range of walking aids, rollators, daily living aids, rise and recline chairs, adjustable beds, bathroom equipment and mobility products.

Sometimes it is the smallest piece of equipment that makes the biggest difference.

More Than Just Orthopaedic Products

One of the advantages of visiting Fen Mobility Centre rather than simply ordering a support online is that you can actually talk to somebody about what you're trying to achieve.

Fen Mobility Centre is Occupational Therapist led, which influences the way we approach mobility and independent living.

We don't start with a product. We start by understanding the person.

If you're struggling with a particular everyday activity, tell us. There may be a product that can help, but there may also be a different or simpler solution that you hadn't considered.

And if we don't think you need something, we'll tell you that too.
